Four Ingham County Elected Officials Endorse Bridget Brink for Congress
Bridget Brink’s campaign for Congress picked up huge endorsements from Lansing City Council Member (At-Large) Peter Spadafore, Ingham County Commissioner Gabrielle Lawrence, Ingham County Commissioner Mark Polsdofer, and Leslie Township Supervisor Dallas Henney
LANSING, MI – Today, Lansing City Council Member (At-Large) Peter Spadafore, Ingham County Commissioner Gabrielle Lawrence, Ingham County Commissioner Mark Polsdofer, and Leslie Township Supervisor Dallas Henney endorsed Bridget Brink for Congress in Michigan’s 7th District.
“Bridget Brink is the strongest candidate to beat Tom Barrett and flip Michigan’s 7th Congressional District,” said Lansing City Council Member (At-Large) Peter Spadafore. “Bridget is a sixth-generation Michigander with a proven record of standing up for what’s right and leading in the toughest environments. She is laser-focused on lowering costs for our community by fighting for affordable prices, healthcare, childcare, and housing. I’m proud to endorse my friend and neighbor Bridget Brink to represent us in Congress and I look forward to working with her to deliver for our fellow Lansing residents.”
Peter Spadafore is a fourth-generation Lansing resident and has served on the Lansing City Council since being elected in 2017. He previously served on the Lansing School District Board of Education, where he served for three consecutive terms including as President. Spadafore serves as Associate Executive Director for the Michigan Association of School Administrators (MASA) where he directs MASA's state and federal relations efforts. Spadafore also serves as a Commissioner on the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission.
“Bridget Brink is a proud product of Michigan public schools and the daughter of an MEA teacher,” said Ingham County Commissioner Gabrielle Lawrence. “She knows that a strong Michigan public school education gives a pathway to success, because she’s lived it. And as the first female U.S. Ambassador to serve in a war zone, Bridget is no stranger to taking on the powerful and winning tough fights. In Congress, she will be a champion for supporting public education, making life more affordable, and delivering for our community. I’m proud to endorse her to be our next Member of Congress for Michigan’s 7th District.”
Gabrielle Lawrence has served on the Ingham County Board of Commissioners since January 2023. She serves as Chair of the County Services Committee and as a member of the Law & Courts Committee. Prior to being elected to the Ingham County Board of Commissioners, Lawrence served as President of the Lansing School Board of Education. She is an attorney and a mom, and practices family and estate planning law in Lansing.
“Bridget Brink is the candidate we need to beat Tom Barrett this November,” said Ingham County Commissioner Mark Polsdofer. “With her deep roots in the 7th Congressional District, Bridget will be a tireless champion for the needs of our community: lower costs, affordable health care, good jobs, and an economy that works for everyone. Throughout her 28-year career serving our country — from the Obama White House to active war zones — Bridget has built a proven record of delivering results in the toughest environments. I’m proud to endorse Bridget Brink for Congress in Michigan’s 7th District.”
Mark Polsdofer has served on the Ingham County Board of Commissioners since January 2019. He previously served as Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs for Governor Jennifer M. Granholm, and Chief of Staff for former State Senator Glenn Anderson and former State House Speaker Pro Tempore Pam Byrnes. Polsdofer is a former Board Member and Chairman of the Ingham County Economic Development Corporation. A proud father, he lives with his wife and their two sons in Meridian Township.
“Bridget Brink brings people together to find real solutions to tough problems,” said Leslie Township Supervisor Dallas Henney. “She did that throughout her 28-year career serving our country under five Presidents from both parties. That’s why Bridget was unanimously confirmed twice by the Senate. As our next Representative in Congress, Bridget will build coalitions to lower costs, deliver affordable healthcare, and defend our democracy. I am proud to endorse her campaign for Congress in Michigan’s 7th District.”
"I’m so proud to be endorsed by four amazing local elected officials from my home county: Lansing City Councilman Peter Spadafore, Ingham County Commissioner Gabrielle Lawrence, Ingham County Commissioner Mark Polsdofer, and Leslie Township Supervisor Dallas Henney," said Bridget Brink, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine and Democrat running for Michigan’s Seventh Congressional District. “We are building a grassroots movement to beat Tom Barrett, flip Michigan’s 7th District, and deliver for mid-Michigan: lower costs, affordable healthcare, and strong public schools. I look forward to working with these fantastic local leaders to do exactly that.”
