Iron Workers Local 25 Endorses Bridget Brink for Congress
IW 25 President Dennis Aguirre: “Bridget will always advocate for the working men and women of Michigan. We know that she will stand with organized labor because, as a third-generation union member, she has done it all her life.”
LANSING, MI – Today, Iron Workers Local Union 25, which represents nearly 7,500 active and retired members across Michigan, endorsed Bridget Brink for Congress in Michigan’s Seventh Congressional District.
“Bridget will always advocate for the working men and women of Michigan. We know that she will stand with organized labor because, as a third-generation union member, she has done it all her life,” said Iron Workers Local 25 President Dennis Aguirre. “Throughout her 28-year career serving our country, including as a war zone Ambassador, Bridget has demonstrated the integrity and resolve to do what’s right no matter what. That is the strong leadership Michigan needs. Iron Workers Local Union No. 25 is proud to endorse Bridget Brink’s campaign for Congress in Michigan’s 7th District.”
“Organized labor made the American Dream possible for my family, like it has for millions of other Michigan families," said Bridget Brink, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine and Democrat running for Michigan’s Seventh Congressional District. “As a union member myself, I am so proud to stand in solidarity with the hardworking men and women of Iron Workers Local 25 and to have earned their endorsement. I will always fight like hell to protect and expand collective bargaining and the right to join a union.”
The Iron Workers endorsement — Bridget’s second union endorsement — comes on the heels of Bridget maintaining her fundraising and cash-on-hand advantage in her latest FEC filing and a new poll showing Brink with a double-digit lead in the MI-07 primary. The Cook Political Report recently highlighted Brink’s momentum, describing her as “the quintessential Trump resister” and “a strong fundraiser.” With over $2.25 million raised since her launch in mid-June, Bridget Brink is the number one fundraiser among Democratic challengers in Michigan.
