Former Meridian Treasurer Phil Deschaine Endorses Bridget Brink for Congress
Deschaine: “Bridget has built a reputation as an anti-corruption fighter who holds the powerful accountable and upholds the highest level of integrity.”
LANSING, MI – Today, former Meridian Township Treasurer Phil Deschaine, endorsed Bridget Brink for Congress in Michigan’s Seventh Congressional District.
“Bridget Brink has delivered results in the toughest environments through her 28-year career serving our country,” said former Meridian Township Treasurer Phil Deschaine. “Bridget has built a reputation as an anti-corruption fighter who holds the powerful accountable and upholds the highest level of integrity. As our Ambassador to wartime Ukraine, she safeguarded over $100 billion of U.S. taxpayer money from waste, fraud, and abuse. Michigan’s 7th District needs a representative who will be accountable to the people they serve and I know that Bridget will be that leader. I’m proud to endorse her campaign to beat Tom Barrett and flip Michigan’s 7th Congressional District.”
“I’m honored to be endorsed by former Meridian Township Treasurer Phil Deschaine,” said Bridget Brink, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine and Democrat running for Michigan’s 7th Congressional District. “Across nearly a decade of service to the people of Meridian Township, including seven as Treasurer, Phil set an example of effective and accountable township governance. I look forward to working with Phil to make government work for the people it’s meant to serve — from the federal to the township level.”
Phil Deschaine served as Meridian Township Treasurer and Board of Trustees member from 2016 to 2025, after a 30-year career in information technology. Since 1982 he has called the Lansing region his home where he raised three children, Marianne, Philip and Elizabeth, all graduates of Haslett High School and Michigan State University and University of Michigan. He currently serves as a Director of the Capital Area Transit Authority and Friends of Historic Meridian.
