Brink Stands Up to $2M in Dark Money Super PACs in MI-07, Posts Strongest Fundraising Quarter Yet
Brink Raises $630k in Second Quarter, Starts Final Month of Primary with $1 Million Cash on Hand
Brink: “Our campaign is standing up to the special interests and out-of-state, dark money super PACs trying to buy this election. I’ve spent my life holding the powerful accountable and fighting corruption, including as the first woman to serve as U.S. Ambassador in a war zone, and am the only candidate in this race who has taken on Donald Trump, and that’s exactly what I’ll do in Congress.”
LANSING, MI – With dark money, out-of-state super PACs spending over $2 million in the Democratic primary for Michigan’s 7th Congressional District to prop up other candidates and smear her lifelong record of service to our country with “misleading” “deepfake” ads, Bridget Brink is announcing the largest fundraising quarter of her campaign.
In the second quarter of 2026, the final full fundraising quarter before the primary, Bridget raised $630k and starts the final month of the primary with over $1 million cash on hand. Nearly 80% of the over 6,300 contributions received in Q2 were of $25 or less.
“Our campaign is standing up to the special interests and out-of-state, dark money super PACs trying to buy this election. I’ve spent my life holding the powerful accountable and fighting corruption, including as the first woman to serve as U.S. Ambassador in a war zone, and am the only candidate in this race who has taken on Donald Trump, and that’s exactly what I’ll do in Congress,” said Democrat and former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink. “Our momentum as early mail voting begins shows that mid-Michiganders are fed up with the chaos and corruption coming out of Washington that’s making life harder and more expensive for families. I’m incredibly grateful for the overwhelming, grassroots support powering our campaign to win in August and November.”
Today, Bridget was endorsed by the Detroit Free Press, highlighting how Bridget is the only one in the race who has stood up to Trump, is focused on lowering costs for families, making health care affordable, and holding Trump accountable, and has the strongest qualifications to win in August and November.
While Bridget has been outspent 4 to 1 with Matt Maasdam’s dark money super PACs spending nearly $1.5M to prop up his campaign and spread “misleading” smears about her record of distinguished service, Bridget remains the strongest candidate to win in August and November:
A sixth-generation Michigander and third-generation union member, Bridget Brink is the only one with unique, proven experience of standing up to President Trump and holding his reckless and corrupt Administration accountable.
Over the past year of the MI-07 campaign, Bridget has led the field with the most raised and most grassroots donors. In the first quarter of 2026, Bridget outraised Rep. Tom Barrett and Matt Maasdam in Michigan.
Bridget has built the broadest, most diverse coalition in the race with support from organizations such as EMILYs List, Elect Democratic Women, Foreign Policy for America, Veterans for Responsible Leadership, and the Michigan Democratic Party’s Veterans Caucus. Brink has been endorsed by elected leaders from Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Livingston, Oakland, and Shiawassee counties including State Senator Sam Singh, Lansing Mayor Andy Schor, State Rep. and former Speaker Joe Tate, State Rep. Jennifer Conlin, State Rep. Noah Arbit, State Rep. Joey Andrews, and many others.
With labor not coalescing around a single Democratic candidate, Brink — the only union member in the race —has proudly earned the support of the Michigan Education Association, Michigan Laborers District Council (LIUNA), Iron Workers Local 25, Unite Here Local 24, and the Michigan Machinists Council.
Cook Political Report: “Brink is the quintessential Trump resister… Maasdam, meanwhile, says nothing directly about the current administration… Brink’s anti-Trump bona fides have made her a strong fundraiser.”
NY Times: Brink is “a powerful voice for reform, taking aim at government corruption”
